Google Bike and Hike Trails via the Trikemobile | Jefferson Graham Reports

We met up with Daniel Ratner, the Google engineer who in his spare time dreamed up a souped up pedicab to automatically snap pictures of biking and hiking trails, for a recent episode of USA TODAY’s Talking Tech. Ratner’s “Trike,” has an antenna, GPS and camera on back to grab pix as he makes his rounds.
The pictures are intended for Google’s Street View section of Google Maps, which currently shows city streets, homes and neighborhoods. Google says to look for hiking and biking trails in Street View over the summer.
